Dinner Party Meme:)

I saw this meme on Sindi's blog and I decided to give my imagination a work out to to do this.

The rules as set out by Graham (the originator of this meme) are as follows:-

The idea is to work your way through the eight phases of the dinner party, answering all of the questions on the way - being as honest and creative as you wish. Once your homework has been completed, please nominate any blogger who's "virtual" dinner party you would love to hear about.


1) The Dinner Party Theme: You have decided to hold a dinner party. When writing the invites you clearly state that fancy dress must be worn. Assuming that cost is no issue, who or what would you dress up as, and why?

My dinner party theme would be based around the R.M.S. Titanic, so my dress would be a replica dress from 1912 as worn by the rich on the ship. It would be made of pink silk satin with much black, silver and gold metallic lame lace. I have always been fascinated by the history of the R.M.S. Titanic, especially after I found out my great grandfather got drunk one night and sold their tickets for the ship.






2) The Invitations: This dinner party is for 6 people (including yourself), you are allowed to invite any 5 other people (either past, present, real or fictional), who would you invite and why?

1. Robin Williams---> I've always wanted to meet him.


2. Johnny Depp---> I've liked him since his TV show "21 Jump Street"


3.Julian Mcmahon----> I just think he is sexy.


4. My hubby Randy----> Because I love him with all my heart & soul and he makes me laugh.


5.Casper the Friendly Ghost----> He's so cute and my nickname in high school






3) The Starter: You are preparing the menu, which dish(es) would you choose as the starter, and why?


Well I would want to do dinner similar to the R.M.S. Titanic, so I would start with an Hors D' Oeuvre like Oysters Mignonette and a soup like Cream of Barley.


4) The Main Course: Okay, now for the main course? and what drink would you serve with it?



The main course would consist of Filet Mignon with Creamy Merlot Sauce; an Asparagus & Spinach Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette, and a Chicken Liver, Apple & Mushroom pate'. I would serve coffee and a soft red wine for the drink.



5) The Sweet: Finally, the sweet. Which would you choose, and why?


For the sweet I would serve Sorbet A l'Orange, Peach Mousse and Eclairs. I would want a choice to serve to my guests as authentic as the R.M.S. Titanic meals and desserts.



6) The Entertainment: The dinner party has gone swimmingly, everybody has had fun, conversation and drinks have been flowing all evening. At the end of the meal you announce that everybody should perform their 'party piece' (no matter how strange or pointless). What party piece would you perform?


I would have my guests retreat to another room for coffee and cordials and play Charades.



7) The End Of The Evening: The party is over, everybody has gone home, the house suddenly feels empty and quiet. Your eyes fix on the hi-fi in the corner of the room. You search though your CD collection to put on some music as you want to listen to one more track before you retire to bed. Which track would you play?


I would play "Forever" by Kiss because that is mine & my hubby Randy's wedding Song.


8) The Dinner Party Nightmares: Okay, so the "virtual" dinner party is over. Now for the real thing. Have you ever been to or hosted a dinner party during which something has gone wrong (either with the food, a guest or something else)?


We never really have any issues at our parties. The only thing I can think of is my dad's 4th ex-wife, she always pouted,whined, and complained about something at all the parties.


I have decided not to tag anyone for this meme. I did it just to have some fun and use my imagination. I feel others should be let with that option also. I had a blast with this meme and I hope you do too.:)
