Photgraphy Challenge April 2008- Seven Deadly Sins

Graham had a very difficult photo challenge for this month but I believe I have finally figured out what to do for it. below are the guidelines for the challenge followed by my pictures and explanations.

Guidelines

Just to recap, the guidelines for the challenge are as follows:

1) Take a photograph that in some way, manner or form represents any one of “The Seven Deadly Sins”. The post title will simply be “Photography Challenge April 2008 – The Seven Deadly Sins”. Please be welcome to post more than one photograph - however, please remember that each one should represent a differnt sin.

2) Include a brief explanation of how the photograph(s) relate to the theme. The photograph doesn't need to be outside, it can be of somebody or of something around the home.... it just needs to represent the theme of the month.

3) When you have posted your challenge, be sure to send me a link so that I can include it on my "April Challenge Entry" post at the end of the month!

4) You want to join in with the challenge but don't have a blog or website to display your photograph on? No problem, just email me copy of the image, along with your name and a brief description of how the photograph(s) relate to the theme. I will then include your entry on my "April Challenge Entry" post at the end of the month!!!

1.) ENVY

I chose my daughter Faith for ENVY because I envy her childlike spirit, her innocence, and her energy. I forget to get in touch with my inner child at times. I just love to watch the excitement at times in her eyes when she sees something new.

2.) SLOTH

I chose my son Gage for SLOTH because he tends to be lazy. He posed for this picture. LOL!

3.) GLUTTONY

Sindi of Life is a Rollercoaster wanted me to use her for Gluttony. She stuck spagetti-o's to her face for the picture. She wanted to be gluttony because she said she likes food. LOL!

4.) PRIDE

I chose a picture I took of my ceiling fan for PRIDE because I tend to boast about hanging it up myself. I'm so proud that I did it without any help.
5.) ANGER
I chose fire for Anger, because to me it looks angry when it is destroying wood or whatever is in it's path.

6.) GREED

This is the store I work at Wal~Mart #4235. I put a picture of my store but I mean retail in general. I feel all retail is greedy. They want you to bust your butt and not pay you what you are worth, For example Wal~Mart is a billion dollar company and they refuse to pay you even one minute of overtime.Retail jobs expect you to give away every weekend of your life for them and they hurt alot of mom and pop stores. I could go on and on about this but I won't.
7.) LUST

This is a friend of mine who works in a strip club. She posed in one of her outfits for this sin. I decided as well as she that Strip Clubs were a form of lust because both sexes go in to watch the girls strip.

How to Tell the Sex of a Fly

How to Tell the Sex of a Fly

JUST TOO CUTE.

This is the cleanest and funniest E-mail jokes I've come across in a long while!

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her Husband stalking around with a fly swatter

'What are you doing?' She asked.

'Hunting Flies' He responded. '

Oh! Killing any?' She asked.
Yep, 3 males, 2 Females,' he replied.

Intrigued, she asked. 'How can you tell them apart?'

He responded, '3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone. '

Wordless Wednesday

I took this picture on my way home Friday from the park .

My son Gage (age 12) took this picture the same day about 5 minutes after I took the other one looking on the opposite side of the sky. I just love the colors of the clouds.

123 Book Meme

I saw this meme on Graham's page One Man's Travel Blog. It looked interesting so I decided to participate in it.

The rules are as follows:

1. Pick up the nearest book of at least 123 pages.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

I don't believe I can just pick one but here are my choices.

1.)

Anne Frank : The Diary of a Young Girl
Translated from Dutch by B.M. Mooyart-Doubleday
with an introduction by Eleanor Roosevelt

Perhaps the most famous personal account of the Holocaust, The Diary of Anne Frank was written in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, between 1942 and 1944. The Franks were a Jewish family originally from Germany, where Anne was born in 1929. Anne’s father, Otto, had come from a wealthy background, but his family’s fortune was lost after World War I.

" I believe Mummy thinks there could be no better relationship between parents and their children, and that no one could take a greater interest in their children's lives than she. But quite definity she only looks at Margot, who I don't think everhad such problems and thoughts as I do. Still, I wouldn't dream of pointing out to Mummy that, in the case of her daughters, it isn't at all as she imagines, because she would be utterly amazed and wouldn't know how to change anyway; I want to save her the unhappiness it would cause her, especially as I know that for me everything remain the same anyway."
2.)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

By: J. K. Rowling

Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcuxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him...
In this final, seventh instalment of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling unveils in spectacular fashion the answers to the many questions that have been so eagerly awaited.

Harry, Ron, Hermione looked at one another.

"A surprise, apparently! You were not aware then that Dumbledore had left you anything?"

"A-all of us?" said Ron. " Me and Hermione too?"

"Yes, all of-----"

3.)

The Neverending Story

By : Michael Ende

Translated from German by Ralph Manheim

The book centres on a boy, Bastian Balthazar Bux, who meets a mysterious man who owns a small antique bookstore and steals a book from it called The Neverending Story, which he reads.
The book begins in Fantastica (Phantásien in the German novels; Fantasia in the films), when a "will-o'-the-wisp" goes to ask the Childlike Empress for help against the Nothing, which is spreading over the land. The Empress herself is ill, which is believed to be the cause of the Nothing (or viceversa); she sends the only person that can stop the Nothing, a boy warrior named Atreyu, to find a cure for her. Atreyu is a brave person, but everyone thought he was a man even though he is a young boy. While on his quest, Atreyu meets characters such as Benjamin, Uyulala, and the gnomes Urgl and Engywook. Atreyu also meets Falkor, the luckdragon, who helps him along the way.

'Do you think I wouldn't have bitten through it myself if this were an ordinary chain?"

As though to prove his point, he clamped his jaws on the chain. The chain jangled as he tugged and pulled at it. After awhile he let it go.

'It's a magic chain. Only the person who put it on can take it off . But she will never come back.

Well these were my choices for the Meme. I hope you enjoy them.

I would however like to tag

Sindi and Stacy for this meme and whoever else would like to participate.
